David Francis with Lifeway Christian Resources suggests that Sunday School classes use name tags every Sunday. I think this is a great idea, but many find it difficult to do every Sunday. An alternative would be to use name tags when you have a high attendance day or a day like Easter Sunday when you know that you will have guests in your class. Use the write on name tags and make sure everyone (guests and those who attend regularly) puts one on. As the leader, set the example and put on a name tag. As people enter the room give them a name tag. This will help your guests feel welcome and a part of the group. It will also help your class members become better acquainted. You may have class members who have sat next to each other for weeks but don’t know each other’s names.
