Sunday School is for teaching God’s Word. Right? Well, yes, but there are other purposes for Sunday School like reaching, ministering, fellowshipping, and even being missional. There is nothing more fulfilling than for a Sunday School class to get involved in a hands-on project of missions. Here are just a few ideas: provide a meal for Room in the Inn; participate in Operation Christmas Child (have a class fellowship to pack boxes); provide backpacks with school supplies for children who may need them; collect cans of food for the local food bank; select a child from the angel tree at Christmas or provide gifts for some children who will not have a Christmas for some reason; pack boxes of goodies to send to those serving in the military; help with a Habitat for Humanity home; participate in a mission trip; provide child care for military couples so they can have a night out; collect clothes to help with a local clothes closet. The list could go on and on. Please share what your Sunday School class has done to be on mission for Christ.
